History of the BVCG

From our simple beginning in 1981, we have grown to a current membership of over 200. Members include not only Calgarians, but also lettering enthusiasts from across Canada and many other countries. An extensive resource library has been collected over the years, and our informative newsletters/Journal continue to inspire our members. With varied topics for meetings and affordable workshops, we assist members in developing their calligraphic skills. Exhibitions and public contact have played a major part in our attempt to spread the joy of handmade letters.

Projects and events we have been involved in :

- Calgary Woman's Show
- Heritage Park 12 Days of Christmas
- Lougheed House at Spruce Meadows
- Letters Alive at Station Cultural Centre, Okotoks
- Hull Child and Family Services silent auction
- Heritage Park Fall Fair
- Calgary Stampede - Western Showcase and Artists' Window
